Rapp Bomek is a Norwegian manufacturer and global supplier of certified safety and security systems for demanding, safety-critical environments. With more than 40 years of experience as a specialized safety supplier—and industrial roots extending back to the late 19th century—we develop and manufacture high-performance doors, windows, and wall systems for the energy sector, marine and offshore industries, defence, critical infrastructure, and high-security facilities.
Based in Northern Norway, our engineering, manufacturing, and testing activities are shaped by harsh climatic conditions, long distances, and strict operational requirements. This environment has influenced our design philosophy from the very beginning, with a strong emphasis on robust construction, long service life, and predictable performance under extreme conditions.
All Rapp Bomek products are engineered and manufactured in Norway, giving us full control over design, materials, production, and quality assurance. Our product portfolio includes fire-rated doors, blast-resistant doors, gas-tight doors, ballistic-resistant doors, and intrusion-resistant security solutions, all tested and certified in accordance with international and European standards.

Our History
Rapp Bomek’s roots extend back to the late 19th century, originating in industrial workshops and mechanical manufacturing environments along the Norwegian coast. These early foundations established a culture of precision craftsmanship, durability, and practical engineering that continues to define our work today.
Rapp Bomek, as it is known today, was established in the early 1980s in Bodø, Northern Norway, during the rapid expansion of the Norwegian offshore industry. Our early focus was the development of specialized fire‑rated doors for offshore installations, where safety, reliability, and compliance were critical.
As safety requirements evolved through the 1990s, Rapp Bomek expanded its engineering capabilities and product range. Solutions were developed to address blast resistance, gas tightness, and increased structural performance, supported by systematic testing and formal certification programs.
During the 2000s, our solutions were increasingly adopted in marine and shipbuilding projects, as well as in onshore energy facilities and industrial infrastructure. Investments in engineering competence, production control, and documentation enabled Rapp Bomek to support complex international projects and meet stricter regulatory frameworks.
In recent decades, changing threat scenarios and regulatory demands have driven further development into ballistic- and intrusion‑resistant solutions, explosion‑resistant systems, and products designed to mitigate electromagnetic interference. These capabilities expanded our presence in defence, critical infrastructure, and high‑security markets, while maintaining strong roots in the energy and marine sectors.
