Allmannajuvet

The Allmannajuvet zinc mines are a disused mining works in Sauda, Norway. The mines were in operation from 1881 to 1899. During these years a total of 12,000 tonnes of zinc ore were extracted. Today, the mining area is a museum. The plain buildings in the gorge are designed in an industrial construction style to embody the story of the mines. Allmannajuvet, with its characteristic landscape and rich cultural history, is one of the 10 largest attractions along the National Tourist Routes.

Rapp Bomek has supplied special doors to Allmannajuvet project requested by the world famous Swiss architect Peter Zumpthor. The project was built by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Vegvesen) and was completed in 2016.
