Rapp Bomek enters into cooperation agreement with German AP-Marine

Rapp Bomek recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with AP-Marine, Advanced Pneumatic Marine GmbH. The agreement entails Rapp Bomek selling AP-Marines’ door control systems to suppliers and customers in Norway. This enables the Bodø company to become a total supplier of fire doors to the maritime market and be able to deliver parts and systems to 90 per cent of all doors and hatches on the Norwegian shelf, offshore. 

– We are very pleased with the agreement with AP-Marine, which is part of the Grutzmann Group. The company is a leading international manufacturer of door drive systems for ships and offshore. All systems have fire-test certificates, type approvals, MED documentation in EC certification, and meet the high-end quality necessary to supply this market, says Hugo Henriksen, Sales Director at Rapp Bomek. 
 
The collaboration agreement means that Rapp Bomek will use AP-Marine's control systems on its own doors and hatches in the future, including both pneumatic and electric control systems. This means a range of new products for Rapp Bomek, including products for the maritime market, where we will launch a completely new product line of fire doors during Q1. 
 
Kurt Kristoffersen, CEO of Rapp Bomek, says that the company has recently been working on areas to improve competitiveness to win new contracts offshore and become a total supplier to the maritime market: 
 
– Our ambition is to be one of the largest suppliers of fire and security doors to the offshore market, and eventually to the maritime market. The green shift also means that we need electrical systems for our doors that will suit upcoming wind projects. While we will still supply parts and service for all our previously delivered pneumatic systems, we understood early on that in order to succeed with our new strategy we need to collaborate with major international players such as AP-Marine to gain access to innovative solutions for the control systems for our doors. Our customers will experience that Rapp Bomek delivers the right products with innovative solutions, Kristoffersen concludes.
